PII masking
Protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is essential for maintaining user privacy and complying with data protection regulations.
Foldspace provides PII Control settings so you can mask sensitive information across both SaaS Chat and the Website Marketing Bot.
What is PII?
Section titled “What is PII?”Personally Identifiable Information (PII) refers to any data that can be used to identify an individual. Examples include email addresses, names, financial details, locations, and IP addresses.
How to Set Up PII Masking
Section titled “How to Set Up PII Masking”To enable PII masking:
- Go to Settings: Log in to your Foldspace account, click on the Settings menu, and select PII Control from the left-hand panel.
- Choose Application: You will see PII settings for both SaaS Chat and Website Marketing Bot.
- Toggle Masking Options: For each application, switch on the types of PII you want to protect.
- Save Changes: Click Save to apply masking rules.
Available Masking Options

| Email Addresses | Obscure email addresses to prevent identification and maintain privacy. |
| Names | Mask individuals’ names in conversations and reports to maintain confidentiality. |
| Payment Information | Secure sensitive financial details like credit card and bank account numbers. |
| Geographic Locations | Hide or generalize specific user location data to protect privacy. |
| IP Addresses | Conceal IP addresses captured through tracking, recordings, or logs. |
